“I’m Playboy’s first quarterly Playmate! I can’t believe it,” says our Winter 2021 Playmate, Izabela Guedes. Originally from Brazil, now based in Los Angles, Izabela has always loved the brand, and we are thrilled to be collaborating with her. “Since the age of 13, I dreamed about becomi ng a model. Playboy is such a big deal in Brazil, so I’ve been a fan for a while,” she begins. “It’s crazy to think that back in the 1950s, women were posing naked for the magazine — you had to be fearless to do it then. Even today, you still have to be.” For her own shoot, Izabela put her personal touch on everything you see. “For my Playmate pictorial, I tried to channel Aaliyah. I wanted to pay homage to the 1990s, my favorite decade,” she says. “I did my own makeup and had creative input on the visual aesthetic.
