Legal weed sales have officially begun in Michigan, and let’s just say demand is HIGH!
Here’s Eila with the story.
Just over a year ago, Michigan voters supported a ballot measure to legalize marijuana sales and possession, and on Sunday, it became a reality. A lot of municipalities in the state have decided not to allow the sale of recreational weed… but the ones that ARE, are doing big business. On the first day alone, massive lines were formed and hundreds of thousands of dollars in sales were made. Michigan is now the 10th state in the country to sell cannabis recreationally.
An accused drug kingpin has been taken into custody in Colombia. And the reason we’re talking about it is Cesar Emilio Peralta has been linked to the shooting of Red Sox legend David “Big Papi” Ortiz! It’s believed Ortiz was shot by accident, an unfortunate victim of a hit gone wrong. We’ll undoubtedly learn more about Peralta’s role soon.
Hope you enjoyed your mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving, ’cause we may be looking at a shortage of spuds! According to the Department of Agriculture, bad weather has put a serious dent in America’s potato crops. As in a six-percent drop and a BILLION fewer pounds of potatoes than in 2018. That said, experts aren’t expecting the cost of french fries to go up in any real way… so everyone in Michigan should continue to enjoy their legal weed! I’ll be back with more headlines in a bit.
