Hello, one and all, and welcome to Naked News. I hope you’re ready for a Terrific Tuesday, because I’m here to make sure you get one! I’m your host for today, Marina Valmont… and speaking of hosts, here’s our frequent host Eila Adams to talk about ANOTHER frequent host!

Marina, he said he was done with the Golden Globes, but Ricky Gervais is back!

Wow. To be honest, I didn’t think he’d done that well.

True, his performances were VERY polarizing… but obviously hard to ignore! After hosting the Golden Globes from 2010 to 2012, Ricky Gervais took a few years off before returning in 2016. Now, after a few MORE years off, he’ll be hosting in 2020, for a record fifth time! This despite many controversial jokes last time… including one where he said a Golden Globe is worthless! Either way, after hostless Oscars AND Emmys, I’m sure people will be watching to see what he says THIS time. The Golden Globes air live on January 5th.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a cop show that’s getting more time for good behavior. Even though the seventh season won’t premiere until February 6th, its new home NBC has already seen fit to renew the show for an eighth season. Given all the fanfare the network got for PICKING UP Brooklyn Nine-Nine, this was certainly a no-brainer. Nine-NINE!

If you’ve been Curbing Your Enthusiasm since the last new episode of the series aired in December 2017, it’s time to get prett-ay, prett-ay, prett-ay excited! Thanks to an Instagram post from series star Jeff Garlin, we know the tenth season of Curb Your Enthusiasm will kick off in January! And just in time, too: Larry David strikes me as someone who has to stay busy!

A Friends reunion has been rumored pretty much daily ever since the series went off the air… but there’s new hope! According to a Hollywood Reporter story, sources say the six stars and the series creators are in talks to have a reunion on HBO Max. Apparently, it would be a, quote, “unscripted reunion special”, and the article is VERY clear that a deal is far from done. But if a reunion does happen, I guess we can look forward to David Schwimmer saying “WE WERE ON A BREAK!”

But since we can’t just sit around waiting for that to happen, here’s our Stream This pick of the week! Technically, The Crown is in its third season, but the Netflix series feels like it’s rebooted. That’s because the role of the Queen, which was played so beautifully by Claire Foy, has been taken over by Oscar winner Olivia Colman. Despite that big change, heavy STILL is the head that wears the crown, as world history continues to test Elizabeth and the rest of the royals! As you probably noticed, Olivia Colman isn’t the only new face. Tobias Menzies has assumed the role of Prince Philip, and Helena Bonham-Carter brings new life to Princess Margaret. This is prestige television for a reason… and not just the costumes. The third season of The Crown is now streaming on Netflix. I’m Eila Adams, and that’s what’s happening, Inside the Box.
