Now I know we’re still in RELATIVELY early days, but has the presence of the coronavirus changed your behavior at all? Well, the impact of the Covid-19, or coronavirus, is being felt in many ways, and Alana’s got several of them right now in the Naked Newsroom!
It looks like pretty soon, our Sports set is going to be the only locker room with cameras in it! Major League Baseball, Major League Soccer, the NBA, and the NHL have issued a joint statement saying all locker rooms and clubhouses will, for now, only be open to players and essential employees. Media access will be restricted to designated areas, and the leagues seem to be adapting the CDC’s recommendation of keeping reporters at least six feet away.
Meanwhile, the CDC is urging even more drastic measures for those at high risk, including older adults and people with medical conditions like heart disease! Among its recommendations are stocking up on supplies, avoiding crowds, and if there’s an outbreak nearby, staying home as much as possible. It also encourages “everyday precautions”, including cleaning your hands often and avoiding touching your face! Good advice for everyone!
So we’ve given you a bunch of reasons to be scared of the coronavirus… but if you’re not, we know how you can make some coin! A medical research company in London is looking for people willing to be INFECTED with the coronavirus! These subjects will stay in quarantine for two weeks, while scientists use them to test new and existing vaccines. And in addition to helping humanity, these volunteers will pocket about forty-five-hundred bucks! I guess the question is, would you do it?! Back in a bit!
