Okay, so we’re coming off a pretty long winter break: did you use the time to binge-watch any series? Well, some of us may have used the holidays to catch up on TV, but we’re all well behind on our TV news!

So how many people REALLY watch the ball drop on TV, New Years Eve? It turns out, a LOT! The numbers are in and about 31 million people watched the new years broadcasts from ABC, Fox, and NBC. And more than half of that can be attributed to ABC and its now-strangely-named ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest!”
The fifth season of Better Call Saul is on the horizon and since the conventional wisdom is that there will only be six episodes, each one is precious. Here’s a quick preview to whet your appetite. Okay, I don’t like to see Mike so beat up, and I’m already worrying about what’s going to happen to Kim… but I still can’t wait! Better Call Saul returns February 23rd.
The TV numbers are in for the NFL’s 2019 season and they are IMPRESSIVE! Each game averaged about sixteen and a half MILLION viewers, which is a five percent increase over 2018’s numbers. And Fox’s late Sunday afternoon football broadcast is the Number One series on TV, with an average audience of over 24 million! And that’s WITHOUT nudity!
Justin Beiber is looking to make a comeback in 2020 and he’s hoping his 10-episode docu-series on Youtube will help. Called ‘Justin Bieber: Seasons’, it not only looks at his personal life over the last few years but also the process of putting together his first album since 2015. Watch for that on Youtube starting January 27th.
Now let’s have a peak at our Stream This pick of the week! The Circle is a Netflix reality show that’ll forever change the way you look at social media. It’s basically Big Brother, but there’s almost no interactions IRL until the finale! On this show, the contestants communicate nearly exclusively through a show-specific app known as The Circle. And if you don’t think that sounds dramatic, you don’t know social media! Just like in real social media, there are influencers, and there are people who get blocked. The first four episodes started streaming on Netflix on New Year’s Day, with new episodes appearing on the 8th and the 15th! I’m Isabella Rossini, and that’s what’s happening, Inside the Box.
