I’m Marina Valmont. WELCOME to Naked News. Now, as you all know, humble brag, I’m something of an influencer… but my Twitter account doesn’t have a blue checkmark, and for once, that paid off! Here to tell you why is Eila Adams in the Naked Newsroom.

Marina, Twitter is a cesspool at the best of times, but it can definitely make some headlines when it gets hacked… and Wednesday was a DOOZY! The accounts of some of the world’s richest, most powerful people got taken over, including those of Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, and Michael Bloomberg. Also political figures, including Barack Obama and Joe Biden! Thankfully, the hackers didn’t start a war… but the scam tweets they sent out from these accounts did “earn” them tens of thousands of dollars worth of bitcoin!

This should end the debate about masks: WALMART, the largest retailer in the world, has made them mandatory! As of Monday, all shoppers will be required to wear face coverings, and as the company expressed in its statement, quote, “this is a simple step everyone can take for their safety and the safety of others in our facilities.” Walmart also said it would “ensure consistency with this new process” by having all stores use a single entrance and introducing “Health Ambassadors” to remind people of the new requirements.

Of course, if you don’t want to wear a mask, online shopping is HUGE right now. According to the Adobe Digital Economy Index, in the first six months of 2020, Americans spent a record amount online, to the tune of roughly THREE HUNDRED AND SIXTY-NINE BILLION dollars. This reflects a big shift, as online spending for March to June was seventy-seven billion dollars above Adobe’s pre-pandemic predictions. Seventy-three billion was spent in June alone, which was a 76 percent jump over last year. All this talk has made me hungry to do some e-commerce of my own! Back in a flash!
