And I’m Marianne! The year’s almost over, and all the “best of” lists are starting to come out. But let’s narrow it to the world of entertainment. Who would you consider “entertainer of the year”?
Lots of choices, but I don’t think there’a anyone better to OFFICIALLY declare the Entertainers of the Year, than Entertainment Weekly magazine!

Entertainment Weekly’s ‘Entertainers of the Year’ list is definitely a who’s-who! The six honorees were led by rapper and actress Awkwafina, whose year included a Golden Globe-nominated role in the Chinese film The Farewell, a hilarious turn in the Angry Birds Movie sequel, and an appearance in the Between Two Ferns Movie. The others on the magazine’s list are Renee Zellweger, Regina King, Taika Waititi, Lizzo, and the cast of TV’s Succession – no clunkers in THAT bunch!
It took twenty-five years, but Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas is You” has FINALLY topped the Billboard Hot 100! The song has been a holiday staple since its 1994 release, but it had never charted higher than number 3. The song is now her NINETEENTH number one hit, second only to the Beatles’ twenty.
David Beckham doesn’t need to play soccer to rake in the cash! For the second year in a row, he’s the HIGHEST paid Instagrammer in Britain. He collected a staggering eleven point three MILLION dollars in sponsored posts alone and charges up to three hundred and seventy five grand PER, sponsored post. Can’t wait to get to that level!
Swedish internet star PewDiePie says he’ll be taking a BREAK from Youtube next year. His channel is one of the most successful with a hundred and two MILLION subscribers. He says he decided to take the break because he’s quote, “very tired”. Yeah, tired of counting his CASH! Its estimated that he makes upwards of 15 million dollars a year.
And finally, the host of British reality TV hit Love Island is STEPPING DOWN due to a SCANDAL! Caroline Flack was recently arrested on assault charges following an incident with her tennis player boyfriend. In a statement, she said she didn’t want to draw attention away from the upcoming Love Island season, set to start shooting in South Africa next month.
