It’s no JOKE! Joaquin Phoenix has been named PETA’s 2019 Person of the Year! The Oscar-nominated star has been vegan for over forty years, and has a long track record of supporting animal welfare. He’s recently pushed for legislation that would ban traveling wild-animal circuses, and has partnered WITH PETA on a variety of animal rights campaigns.
Hollywood’s glitterati got a little nervous when Ricky Gervais was announced as host of the upcoming Golden Globe Awards! After all, he’s got a history of fearlessly skewering other celebs. Well, the show’s new promo is pretty unlikely to relax any of them! Although… him being a jerk is PREDICTABLE, so maybe this ACTUALLY means he’s going to be gentle and respectful?! Nah!
Celebrity short-seller Carson Block has created a very DIFFERENT kind of awards show! Well, technically, “The Fidouchies” is a short film honoring, quote, “the most egregious achievements in financial malfeasance”. And none other than STORMY DANIELS was one of the presenters! She awarded the US Drug Enforcement Administration the “Regulator With the Limpest Dick” award, which should tell you the tone of the show. If it doesn’t, then this will: Apparently Andrew “Dice” Clay QUIT as host because of its content. The Fidouchies is on YouTube, so you can see for yourself.
We often roll our eyes at Gwyneth Paltrow’s “Goop” brand, thanks to its overpriced and/or ridiculous products and recommendations. But we have to admit, we’re LIKING the recent Christmas ad for her G. Label fashion line! Specifically, THIS part! Now THERE’s a way to get a little extra attention! Maybe she should be calling it the G-SPOT Label!
And finally, acting icon Kirk Douglas celebrated his one HUNDRED and third birthday this week! In a career that spanned over sixty years, he portrayed everyone from Spartacus to Doc Holliday to Vincent Van Gogh to a character on the Simpsons. To mark his birthday, his Oscar-winning son Michael Douglas, and daughter in law Catherine Zeta Jones took to social media, sharing some sweet snaps. Here’s to many more years, Kirk!
