Welcome to Naked News! I’m Shannon Blake, alongside our very special guest, Krysta! Welcome back! Many of you will remember Krysta from her previous visits here, but for the newbies, how about a quick re-introduction? All right, Krysta, this weekend was International Women’s Day. What does that day mean to you? Well, Alana’s in the Naked Newsroom with the headlines, including the highlights from that special day.

International Women’s Day saw celebrations AND protests around the globe. Marchers called for an end to discrimination and exploitation, access to education, reproductive rights, and equal pay, while also celebrating women’s achievements. In Turkey, thousands of women marched despite a government BAN on “protests”! It took riot police firing blanks and tear gas to break up the crowd. Now THAT’s girl power!

In Italy, the Prime Minister has imposed a strict quarantine affecting about sixteen MILLION residents as part of their coronavirus response! People in the worst-affected area of the country, which includes Milan and Venice, are on lockdown. Nobody can enter or leave the area for anything other than “undeferrable work needs or emergency situations”. Theaters, pubs, and other gathering places have also been closed. Italy already has nearly six thousand coronavirus cases recorded.

And they may be under lockdown, but some residents of an Italian town did enjoy a bright spot recently when RED WINE started flowing through their faucets! And no, it wasn’t a biblical miracle. A local winery in Castelvetro had a malfunction, and about thirteen hundred bottles’ worth of vino leaked into the water lines. The lucky houses enjoyed about three hours of free-flowing wine, which was diluted, but apparently still pretty tasty. Not ideal for showering, though! Don’t go away!
