Hello, all you sexy rockstars, I’m Isabella Rossini, WELCOME to Naked News. It was quite a weekend, and there’s plenty we want to get you caught up on, including the latest on last week’s massive Twitter hack! Eila’s in the Naked Newsroom to bring you up to speed.

Isabella, according to a New York Times report, the hack started with a post on the Discord messaging platform where a user known as “Kirk” claimed to have access to Twitter’s internal tools. “Kirk” then persuaded a small group of other users to help him access and sell desirable screen names. But later, “Kirk” began accessing high-profile accounts, including Barack Obama’s and Elon Musk’s, posting a Bitcoin scam that reportedly made him nearly two hundred thousand dollars. We’re just glad it was a Bitcoin scam and not election tampering!

Facebook is apparently within WEEKS of a global launch for its TikTok competitor called “Instagram Reels”. The program will let people create and share 15-second videos set to music, and hope to see them blow up in a “Featured Reels” area. The launch has apparently been in the works for over a year and is great timing, as TikTok has come under increased scrutiny, thanks to its Chinese roots and concerns over how it mines user data.

And Kanye West held his first presidential campaign event on Sunday and for better or for worse, it was just about everything you’d expect from the troubled rap mogul. In his speech in front of a few hundred people, he suggested that everyone who has a baby would get a million dollars, and said that marijuana should be free. He also slammed revered abolitionist icon Harriet Tubman, saying she never actually freed slaves, “just had them work for other white people”. The event definitely didn’t do much to clarify whether Kanye was actually serious about running for president, OR to relieve people concerned about his mental health.
