Hello, everyone, and welcome to Naked News. I’m Isabella Rossini. I think it’s fair to say that Naked News as an organization is quite excited about the potential of AI. But as Alana’s here to remind us, there’s still a ways to go!
It’s true, Isabella. We still need to take what AI chatbots say with SEVERAL grains of salt!
I think that’s prudent, I mean, we’ve all seen examples of AI bots getting things very wrong!
And now, thanks to some research, we know just how common those mistakes are! Welcome to the Naked Newsroom. It’s official: AI. chatbots are not to be trusted! The BBC recently conducted extensive research where they gave content from their website to ChatGPT, Microsoft’s CoPilot, Google’s Gemini, and Perplexity AI then asked questions about it. They found that over NINETY percent of all responses contained “SOME” issues and over half contained “SIGNIFICANT issues”! In fact, a full nineteen percent of AI answers introduced factual errors – and thirteen percent of all quotes sourced were either altered or not actually in the article cited!
Donald Trump has ordered the Treasury Department to stop making new pennies. And while fully discontinuing the penny would in theory require an act of Congress, some do believe the Treasury can just stop making new ones. As for the savings, they will be small, but not invisible – the U.S. Mint reported that in the 2024 fiscal year, it lost around eighty-five million dollars making nearly three-point-two BILLION with a B pennies! That doesn’t make a whole lotta CENTS!
And a new CBS News/YouGov survey finds Trump’s approval rating is quite high after his first month in office. It stands at about FIFTY-THREE percent! Moreover, Trump’s plans to deport immigrants and his handling of the Israel-Hamas conflict also enjoy majority support! There is, however, one area that might need his attention: When asked if the Trump administration was focusing too much, about the right amount, or not enough on “lowering prices of goods and services”, TWO-THIRDS of respondents said “Not enough.” Looks like people are still worried about stocking their Italian and non-Italian kitchens, Isabella!
