Hello, and welcome to Naked News, everyone! I’m Isabella Rossini!
And I’m Alana Blaire!
We’ve got a lot to get to today, including a double team in Entertainment, with Tia & Sarah
Eila’s sharing some tips for your sex life in Pillow Talk and we’ll also be answering your Feedback emails in the wrapup.
First up though Alana, how much time do you spend worrying about things that are scary but really unlikely? Like, say, getting struck by lightning, or driving into a surprise sinkhole? Well, the really “scary but unlikely” scenario of Earth being hit with a giant asteroid just got a little more REAL!
And NASA is scrambling to get more information! Our gorgeous guest anchor Serenity Cox is in the Naked Newsroom with that story.
Ladies, back in December, NASA spotted an asteroid that had a minuscule chance of hitting Earth in 2032. Well, reports NOW say those chances have doubled, to one in thirty-four! Called 2024 YR4, the asteroid is big enough that it could level an entire city or trigger a massive tsunami. NASA is so worried about it that its allowing scientists from around the world to use its James Webb telescope to help them pinpoint its path and potential hazards. No word yet on whether a ragtag group of deep-core drillers will somehow be involved!
In other news, the newest “Corruption Perceptions Index” is out, and its pretty concerning! The group Transparency International used thirteen data sources to measure the perception of public sector corruption in a hundred and eighty countries. With one hundred points considered “very clean”, South Sudan had the worst score, at just EIGHT, above Somalia with nine and Venezuela with ten. The TOP score of ninety went to Denmark, ahead of Finland’s eighty-eight and Singapore’s eighty-four. The US was twenty-eighth, with sixty-five points.
And remember the Chinese spy balloon that floated over the U.S. in 2023? THAT story has taken a SHOCKING twist! According to Newsweek, sources say it was carrying AMERICAN technology! That includes a satellite communication module, sensors, sophisticated surveillance equipment and other tech, from MULTIPLE U.S. companies! One of those companies is Iridium, whose biggest customer is the U.S. Department of Defense and also has partners in China. I’d say that definitely does raise some security questions!
Uh, yeah, I’d say so, too!
Thank you Serenity, we’ll check back with you again later.
Okay, I got to sound off on it a bit in Monday’s Sports, but Alana, what did YOU think of the Super Bowl halftime show? Well, there’s ONE A-list celeb who apparently didn’t want their friends to watch the halftime show, and for good reason!
Tia Larose and Sarah Harlow are here to break it down for you NEXT, in Entertainment.
