In other news today, if you’re planning a trip to the Bahamas, you may or may not want to hear this! Two American women were recently attacked by a SHARK at the popular Bimini Bay resort! The tourists were enjoying the beautiful waters when they felt something bumping them, and one was nearly pulled under the surface. Both suffered bites to the legs before they were pulled out of the water and taken to hospital. Fortunately, they’re expected to fully recover.
Meanwhile, Santorini, Greece, is STILL being rattled by earthquakes. In just over two weeks, the island has experienced several THOUSAND of them! Most of the tremors have been small, but several have been measured at magnitudes up to five-point-three. Santorini is under a state of emergency, and over eighty percent of residents have left the island. Experts say that there’s no way to predict if even BIGGER ones are ahead, or even when the shaking will stop.
And finally today, accused murderer Luigi Mangione will get an astounding THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS from a crowdfunding campaign to help pay his legal bills! And NOT because people believe he’s innocent! Mangione is the man alleged to have shot the CEO of a major U.S. health insurance company. Many donors left messages of SUPPORT, even as they assume he committed the crime! One donor said “thousands more just like” Mangione were needed, and others slammed the greed of for-profit healthcare.
