Thanks you two. That A-lister in question is none other than our own hometown hero, Drake! According to reports, the rapper banned his friends from watching the halftime show because his arch nemesis, Kendrick Lamar was the performer.
And after failing to get Lamar’s monster “Drake diss track”, “Not Like Us” removed from the halftime show, he banned his friends from watching it! He was also apparently VERY happy that Lamar’s performance was getting criticized online, with some saying it was the worst halftime show ever!
Oh petty Drake. Now one of the things people tune into the Super Bowl for, are the commercials. And the one that everyone seems to STILL be talking about, is Harrison Ford’s Jeep commercial! Here’s a quick clip!
Touching right? It’s two minutes long and titled “Owner’s Manual” and has already surpassed ten million views on YouTube in just a few days!
Many people are calling it the undisputed winner of the super bowl commercials. It’s also ANOTHER hit for Harrison Ford. The eighty-two-year-old legend told People magazine that it almost didn’t happen because he initially turned down it down. He only reconsidered because Oscar-nominated director James Mangold came on board. Yes, film buffs: it was an “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” reunion!
Someone else who would’ve LIKED to have been in the Super Bowl was Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff. But given the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit pictures his wife Christen Goff recently shared, we refuse to feel bad for him! She’s celebrating her fifth consecutive feature this year, and we’re celebrating right along with her!
She was the 2021 SI Swim Search co-winner and the 2022 co-Rookie of the Year… and last June is when she and the QB tied the knot! As far as I’m concerned – and hopefully as far as HE’s concerned – that’s the only RECEPTION that matters!
Taylor Swift was at the big game, supporting her man Travis Kelce. And besides having to “SHAKE OFF” a few boos, she was likely also a little sad that one of her major accomplishments has been surpassed. Guinness World Records has confirmed that Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres tour has set a new record for highest attendance!
Coldplay’s tour, which started in March of 2022, has already sold TEN-POINT-THREE MILLION tickets, topping Tay-Tay’s ten-point-one – and the band still has EIGHT MONTHS to go! That said, it’s important to note that the Eras Tour is still the all-time HIGHEST GROSSING!
As for the THIRD-most-attended tour of all time, that’d be Ed Sheeran’s. However – and this is a bit of a stretch – let’s say at least one policeman in India wasn’t SUPER BOWLED OVER by his presence! When Sheeran tried to surprise his fans with some unexpected busking in Bangalore recently, a cop stopped and unplugged him!
According to local police, they denied Sheeran permission to play because the street he was on is apparently very busy and they try to keep people moving. Kinda makes sense considering Bangalore’s population is over 14 million. Need to keep those people moving, even if it’s NOT to Ed Sheeran’s music!
