Welcome back to the Naked Newsroom! Meta just announced an ambitious plan to connect people to the Internet. They plan on laying thirty-one-thousand-miles of undersea cable! The company says that it’ll bring “industry-leading connectivity” to the U.S., South Africa, Brazil, India, and other regions. Called “Project Waterworth”, it will be one of the longest cable projects in the world, take several years and cost billions of dollars. Meta says the investment will “strengthen the scale and reliability of the world’s digital highways”, and provide the “abundant highspeed connectivity needed to drive A.I. innovation” worldwide. All I can hope for is that it streams my Netflix without glitches!

And speaking of streaming, For the first time ever, YouTube has announced that its total U.S. viewership through television sets, has SURPASSED viewership on mobile devices! The company has spent years encouraging people to watch videos on their bigger home screens, and it’s paid off. According to Nielsen, YouTube had the most streaming watch time of any service for the past two years. And now, television viewers are watching OVER half of the BILLION-plus hours of content streamed daily across YouTube’s services!

Finally today, New Zealand has launched a new tourism campaign, but its slogan is getting mocked – HARD! The slogan? “Everyone must go!” Obviously, it’s meant as encouragement to visit the beautiful country, but it’s being SLAMMED for sounding like a warehouse clearance sale! And SOME opponents go even further, saying it suggests “the need for toilets”! The government is hoping to bring in more visitors to help boost New Zealand’s slumping economy.

Yeah, I’m not sure “everyone must go” works, since to ME, it sounds like they’re kicking people OUT! All right, those are today’s headlines! We’re wrapping today up with a trip to Amsterdam with Eila Adams, NAKED IN THE STREETS.
